Moriah & Karl: Townsend Park Family Session

Karl and Moriah Schmidt joined me for a summer photo session at Townsend Part in the warm month of August. We climbed our way up hills in search of the most fun playsets and sunny lighting; we walked the trails and sat on old wooden park benches--and toddler Samantha found a new friend--a baby squirrel who had lost his mother. This moment showed us an explorative side of Miss Samantha--the happy, joy-filled, strong-willed, go-getter of a little person! She took bitty steps forward and peered at the tiny animal. "Daddy, look at the squirrel!!!"

Townsend Park never fails to bring together unique spots for arranging beautiful family poses, and jolly moments of play for the smaller explorers who accompany mom and dad.

Years ago I heard this quote authored by D.L. Moody:

"A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian…and most of all, his family ought to know."

Such true words. Rather if we find ourselves chasing an adventurous toddler, chatting with a teenaged sibling about their homework, or cleaning up another massacre of the living room legos, may our mode of family living declare to a lost world that to know Jesus Christ has such a power to change and transform the souls of fallen, sinful human beings that self can be evacuated, and Christ can be exalted in our daily living.

Josephine | Downtown Grand Rapids Senior Session

Josephine, a soul of kindness and grace. When we met in middle school at a local Bible study, Josephine quickly became a dear friend. I remember learning our memory verses together with excessive enthusiasm and giggling! Several years ago, I had the joy of capturing her senior photos, and I am just now getting to blogging them!

Kailene & TJ: Apple Orchard Maternity Session

Kailene and TJ are two amazing people. A few words to describe them: kind, welcoming, hospitable and discerning. When Kailene asked me to capture this beautiful, expectant season of life, I was thrilled! First, we ventured into a grassy apple orchard and soaked up all the stunning sights of fall, then we took a short trip to downtown Rockford and incorporated the dam, a quiet walking path, and a brisk green field.
